I knew Megyn Kelly was having trouble pulling in viewers, but daaaaaang. This is just embarrassing.
If you recall, Kelly’s interview with controversial radio host Alex Jones garnered an abysmal 3.5 million viewers. That night, a CBS rerun of “60 Minutes” garnered 5.3 million viewers.
It gets worse. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” beat her that week. A rerun, at that. Things aren’t looking up, either. According to Nielsen, the latest “Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” drew in 3.1 million viewers– her lowest number yet. Variety adds that Kelly also “matched a series low in the key demo.”
According to Life&Style, Kelly is freaking out over her ratings.
“Megyn’s really worried,” an NBC source says. Megyn, 47, “has been reaching out to former Fox News colleagues, including Sean Hannity, but Sean hasn’t returned her calls.”
If true– HOLY DESPERATION.
Fortunately for Kelly, this isn’t it. She starts her job with “The Today Show” (rumor has it she’ll have a live studio audience) in September, but word has it she’s already not getting along with her morning co-workers.
“No one is happy about Megyn suddenly being treated like the star of the network… there is a lot of resentment about that,” a source told In Touch. “The drama is only going to continue because NBC has given [Kelly] the keys to the kingdom.”
I can definitely understand the resentment– especially if they’re treating her like a queen and she’s not even producing. That’d irritate me too.
I don’t think NBC will drop her yet. Network executives will at least wait to see how her morning show goes.
