DHS To Construct Border Wall Prototypes In San Diego This September!

As if I needed another reason to look forward to the fall.

It’s been fairly frustrating, watching the Trump administration and GOP lawmakers in D.C. attempting to make things happen. It’s always delay, delay, delay. That’s not to say that we haven’t experienced small victories– we have. (Although I would argue that Justice Gorsuch was a HUGE victory. After all, that’s one of the main reasons I voted for Trump.) I just want to see the MAGA agenda fully move forward. I want the wall, you guys. I don’t want them to sweep that under the rug. I want a big, beautiful wall. Gold-plated, even. With solar panels. And an electric fence. And a moat with a few gators sprinkled in. (Of course I’m exaggerating. It doesn’t need to be gold-plated. *winks*)

All that being said, I have good news. According to this, DHS is expected to begin the construction of four to eight wall prototypes in San Diego this September!

Ronald Vitiello, acting deputy commissioner at Customs and Border Protection, said the agency would build four to eight prototypes to add to existing border walls. It will then evaluate what kind of barrier is most effective in combating drug and human smuggling.

“We own that land, have access to it and it’s a good place to start testing in a real-world environment,” Vitiello said at a news briefing.

According to the report, officials are going to use $20 million from “other programs” to pay for this. Again, these are just prototypes and the Trump administration hasn’t picked a vendor yet, but things are on the move.

The wall. It’s going to happen. September, baby.
