What. A. DAY.
In case you haven’t heard, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz is stepping down. The only downside to that news is the fact that I won’t be able to mock her as regularly as I do now.
But it’s not ALL bad news for her. Queen Hillary just named DWS the honorary chair of her 50-state campaign to win program. I’m not even kidding.
In a sort of thank you letter, Clinton said the Miami congresswoman will serve as a surrogate for her national campaign, helping the team in Florida and other key states.
“I look forward to campaigning with Debbie in Florida and helping her in her re-election bid — because as president, I will need fighters like Debbie in Congress who are ready on day one to get to work for the American people,” Clinton wrote.
And Obama was all gushy over her too.
“For the last eight years, Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has had my back. This afternoon, I called her to let her know that I am grateful. Her leadership of the DNC has meant that we had someone who brought Democrats together not just for my re-election campaign, but for accomplishing the shared goals we have had for our country,” Obama said in a statement Sunday afternoon.
If this doesn’t scream corruption, I don’t know what does.
