It’s like the drama that just won’t go away.
By now, you probably know that Tomi Lahren was let go from her show on TheBlaze. She’s still getting a paycheck from the company, per her contract, so she wasn’t exactly “fired” as such (I dunno… legalese is weird). She sued the company for wrongful termination, to which the company’s founder, Glenn Beck, sued her right back and we found out just how much of a freaking diva she was.
Well… it turns out that there’s even MORE to her diva-ish-ness than was initially reported.
According to this, sources from within TheBlaze speaking on conditions of anonymity (anonymous because of legal reasons and whatnot) told the Daily Caller that Lahren basically treated everyone like garbage and went out of her way to antagonize her co-workers and the staff –
Lahren, who did not reply to TheDC’s interview request, treated staffers and floor workers with contempt and disdain, seemed to enjoy provoking her colleagues and ultimately appeared to care more about causing controversy — whether good or bad — than she cared about being honest, sources said.
“Even when you wanted to give her a chance, she would go out of her way” to make people mad, one person said. “It’s like she got a high off of creating a hostile work environment.”
She also created issues for the company regarding their advertisers, and she didn’t seem to care that her attitude was causing problems –
One of the biggest problems with Lahren, sources said, was that she didn’t seem to care what people were saying about her as much as she cared that they were talking about her. “At least they’re talking about me,” sources quoted her as regularly saying.
Lahren became more polarizing as she grew in fame and realized she could go viral by being divisive, sources said. “She was always trying to chase that next million-view video,” one said.
The one that made me laugh the most, though? She was insanely particular about having a butt-warmer on her chair and made the staff take care of it for her. A BUTT-WARMER –
Lahren demanded staffers heat up her “butt warming pad” in the microwave before every show, those sources said. “She expected to be treated like a queen,” one source said, referring to Lahren’s butt pad demands as “dehumanizing” to her staff, adding: “To demand they warm your butt pad is absurd.”
Geez… it’s like she thought she was doing them a favor by letting them heat up her butt-pad. Good grief – if someone treated me like their royal-butt-pad-warmer, I’d think I’d leave.
Not to mention how she treated the makeup staff –
Lahren was known for yelling and cursing at staff and makeup artists. She often singled out one of the two makeup artists working for The Blaze, yelling at and embarrassing her, even in front of guests. It got to the point where Lahren refused to work with that makeup artist.
She also did things like gloat about how much her wardrobe cost the company, the disclosure of which was actually against the rules –
Lahren’s decision to share her wardrobe budget — $40,000 — in an interview with The Ringer alienated many of her staff, sources said, in part because she was contractually forbidden from disclosing that information, and in part because some of her crew made less than Lahren’s entire clothing budget.
More than anything (for me), this is just flat-out disappointing. I used to enjoy Tomi’s schtick a lot. I think I even shared some of her Final Thoughts videos with our readers here on the site. But hearing how she treated people and how utterly ridiculous she was – it’s worse than finding out a celebrity you like is a flaming progressive nutjob. At least I can get past someone’s politics and enjoy their creative output.
But treating your co-workers like this? Treating human beings like utter garbage? That’s where I draw the line and I don’t give a crap what your politics are.
I hope that she figures out that this is no way to live your life. Maybe she can grow up and realize what an immature brat she’s been.
