U2 Delays Releasing Their New Album, Because Trump Is President Now And “The World Is A Different Place”

Apparently, U2 (yes, the Irish rock band) believe that their album releases have some sort of effect on the delicate political ecosystem in America and overall world landscape.  Because they’re postponing the release of their new album specifically in light of the fact that Trump is going to be president.

No, I’m not even joking right now.  This is my serious face.

…after the surprise victory of Donald Trump, band members said in an interview, as they plan to reconsider certain songs in the wake of a Trump presidency.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, guitarist the Edge said that the band was placing the album’s release on hold and taking some “breathing space” to consider what they wanted to say following Trump’s ascension to the White House.

“We just went, ‘Hold on a second – we’ve got to give ourselves a moment to think about this record and about how it relates to what’s going on in the world,’” the guitarist said.

Ummmmkay.

And here’s the thing, y’all. I really want to be joking about this nonsense, because I used to love U2.   The Joshua Tree was, frankly, the musical backdrop for my latter years of high school.   But now?  They’ve become just another comparable-to-Nickleback-band that actually believes there are people out here who give Actual Craps what they think about “what’s going in the world.”  It’s not about the music.  It’s about a dude named Bono who believes that ISIS can be in part defeated by sending in Amy Schumer to the Middle East.

OK.  That was actually a good idea.

Why is she still here?

Anywho.  I prefer to remember U2 like this:
